Please help me in congratulating the 14U Lady Bombers Softball team in their Runner-up Championship accomplishment this past weekend in the Memorial Day Bash Tournament.
This marks the FIRST trophy awarded to our Softball program! We are so proud of these young ladies and their continued efforts!!!
The Lady Bombers began the weekend tournament in pool play facing the Westminster United team in which they ended with a 15-1 victory. They immediately followed that game with a 0-16 loss against the Fruita Thundercats. With a couple of hours rest, the Lady Bombers faced their final opponent for the day, the Sandlot. The Lady Bombers were victorious over the Sandlot with a score of 8-2. The Lady Bombers completed their pool play ranked #2 and ready for bracket play.
On Sunday, bracket play began, single elimination, one mistake and your out! The Lady Bombers began by facing DC Adrenaline in which they won 11-3. The next victim was the Pueblo Stealth, which provided some tense moments, as the Lady Bombers won 9-7. The Championship game was now in our hands. The Lady Bombers again faced the Fruita Thundercats, which proved to be a good game, ending 0-9.
Megan Horn from the Lady Bombers was awarded the MVP for the Memorial Day Bash tournament, 14UC along with Olivia Bratt from the Fruita Thundercats.
After a much fought weekend of softball, the Lady Bombers emerge as the Runner-up Champions in the Memorial Day Bash Tournament.
